Balkan Explorer is a premium guided motorcycle journey through Bosnia & Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania and Croatia. The circular route begins and ends in Banja Luka, connecting the region’s best mountain roads, canyons, cultural cities and Adriatic coastline.
Ride Durmitor, Piva Canyon, Albania’s legendary SH20, Mount Lovćen and the Adriatic Coastal Road, with time for Sarajevo, Višegrad, Kotor, Dubrovnik and Mostar. A dedicated rest day in Kotor balances the most intensive riding days.
Premium accommodation, experienced English-speaking guidance, luggage transport and local support keep the focus exactly where it belongs: on the road and the experience.

Day 01Arrival in Banja LukaWelcome day
Arrive, settle into the hotel and meet your guide and fellow riders. The evening includes a welcome dinner and official tour briefing covering the route, riding procedures and practical information for the journey ahead.
Day 02Banja Luka → Jajce → Travnik → Sarajevo200 km · 6–7 hrs
The first ride follows scenic roads through Central Bosnia to Jajce Waterfall and the Pliva Lakes. Continue through Travnik’s Ottoman old town and fortress, then follow the Lašva Valley into Sarajevo for an evening around Baščaršija.
Day 03Sarajevo → Rogatica → Višegrad → Zlatibor180 km · 4–5 hrs
Leave Sarajevo through eastern Bosnia’s mountain landscapes and reach the Drina River at Višegrad. See the UNESCO-listed Mehmed Paša Sokolović Bridge, cross into Serbia and climb into the Zlatibor mountain region.
Day 04Zlatibor → Uvac → Mojkovac → Žabljak260 km · 7–8 hrs
Ride southwest through Serbia to the dramatic meanders of Uvac Canyon. The route continues via Mojkovac across the Montenegrin border and climbs the scenic mountain roads to Žabljak, gateway to Durmitor National Park.
Day 05Žabljak → Durmitor → Piva → SH20 → Shkodër250 km · 9–10 hrs
A signature riding day through Durmitor’s dramatic landscapes, down to Piva Canyon and Lake, then south through Nikšić and Podgorica. Finish on Albania’s legendary SH20—sweeping curves, deep valleys and unforgettable mountain views—before arriving in Shkodër.
Day 06Shkodër → Adriatic Coast → Lovćen → Kotor200 km · 8–9 hrs
Cross back into Montenegro and ride through Ulcinj, Bar, Petrovac and Budva. Turn inland at Cetinje, climb Mount Lovćen and descend on one of the region’s most spectacular roads toward the Bay of Kotor.
Day 07Rest Day — KotorRide-free day
Slow down and enjoy Kotor at your own pace. Explore the UNESCO-listed Old Town, relax beside the bay, take an optional boat trip or simply recharge before the journey continues along the Adriatic.
Day 08Kotor → Dubrovnik → Makarska240 km · 7–8 hrs
Follow the Bay of Kotor and cross into Croatia for time in Dubrovnik’s UNESCO-listed Old Town. Continue north on the legendary Adriatic Coastal Road to the Makarska Riviera.
Day 09Makarska → Kravica → Počitelj → Mostar130 km · 5–6 hrs
Leave the Riviera for Herzegovina, stopping at turquoise Kravica Waterfall, Ottoman-era Počitelj and the Buna River Spring near Blagaj. Finish in Mostar with time for the UNESCO-listed Old Bridge and atmospheric Old Town.
Day 10Mostar → Kupres → Šipovo → Banja Luka300 km · 7–8 hrs
The final riding day climbs through the Dinaric interior to the open landscapes of the Kupres plateau, then continues through Šipovo and Manjača. Return to Banja Luka for a farewell dinner and celebration of the journey.
Day 11Departure from Banja LukaDeparture day
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Banja Luka Airport according to the group schedule. Transfers from Sarajevo, Tuzla, Zagreb, Belgrade and Ljubljana airports can be arranged on request, as can extra nights and additional riding.
